I grew up in Southwest Wisconsin, but through teaching, youth work, and serving in the U.S. Army, I have lived in several other states. These experiences have helped shape me as an educator. Prior to teaching I worked at a youth home for teenage boys and before that as the director of a church-based youth program in Duluth, Minnesota.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville with degrees in History and English, but returned after five years of youth work to get my teaching license.
I continue to be excited and inspired about working with teens and teaching as I enter my thirteenth year at Whitewater High School. The students and faculty are phenomenal. The access to technology is first rate, and our support staff is exceptional. I am also blessed to have a position that allows me to utilize both of my college degrees and passions: American History and English.
Elsewhere, my wife and I are blessed to have two amazing children, ages eights and five.
Outside of school I enjoy reading, hiking, biking, movies, and fantasy football.
