I am very happy to be working as a Speech and Language Pathologist in the Whitewater Unified School District for my seventh year. My family and I live in the community and love taking part in all that Whitewater has to offer. My daughter will be a 2nd grader at Lakeview Elementary this year. Sharing the WWUSD experience with her is very exciting! I enjoy scrapbooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends. During my time here, I have provided speech and language services to students at the High School, Elementary School, and Preschool levels. This year, I will be the speech therapist for 9th - 12th grade students at Whitewater High School and 3-7 year old students in Early Childhood, 4-K, and Kindergarten, and 1st grade at Lakeview Elementary School. WHS is a community that I take pride in. I hold leadership roles as yearbook co-chair at Lakeview and a member of the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Team at the high school. The students, families, and staff I have had the joy to work with make this job a great one.
I believe that having positive and collaborative relationships with university programs can be extremely valuable for everyone involved. I enjoy supervising, sharing, and learning from the wonderful students and staff that are part of the UWW Communicative Sciences & Disorders Department. First semester, I will be mentoring Ashley Carfagno. She is a graduate student working towards her masters degree. She is excited to learn the roles and responsibilities of school based speech/language pathology.
I received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Science and Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2007. I earned my masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at UWW in 2010. I also hold a reading 316 license that I obtained through UWW in 2013.
