Wisconsin School Music Association

Our Mission

To ensure that all students have opportunities which encourage lifelong involvement in music, Wisconsin School Music Association will provide statewide music programming activities, offer leadership and support for school music programs, and advance music as an integral part of the school curriculum and community life.

Last February Allisan Barrett, Lydia Wiley Deal, and Jimmy King all completed an audition that qualified them to participate in WSMA State Ensembles. Over 1,000 individuals audition every year to be apart of this event. This year, Allisan Barrett will be playing Horn with the WSMA State Orchestra on Thursday Oct. 27 at the Overture Center in Madison, Lydia Wiley Deal will be singing with the WSMA State Honors Mixed Chorus on Thursday Oct. 27 at the Overture Center in Madison, and Jimmy King will be performing with the WSMA State Honors Jazz Band on Friday Oct. 28 at the Monona Terrace. These students demonstrate that with a strong work ethic and a passion for music they can flourish. We hope they have a wonderful experience making music with  top musicians throughout the state.
