The Hope Squad is excited to celebrate Hope Week at WHS May 1-5! Fun activities will be happening throughout the week, and students will attend an assembly to build empathy, compassion & support on Thursday, May 4.
The Hope Squad was established at Whitewater High School in 2022 to reduce youth suicide through education, training, and peer intervention. Suicide prevention involves educating the school community and increasing mental health, connectedness, and resilience within the student body. An intervention involves recognizing when someone is at risk for suicide and referring the person to supportive resources.
No one should suffer in silence. Prioritize your mental health. Seek help whenever needed. Things will get better. Once you choose hope - anything is possible.
Whitewater High School Hope Squad members are (top row) Lucy Davis, Emmanuella Mbifi, Ghati Binagi, Kindyl Kilar, Aiden Judd, Aidyn Amundson, and Catherine Skingsrude, (middle row) Vickie Ramirez, Jackie Franco, Zoe Kohl, Davin Parboteeah, Ella Spear, and Josie Treder, and (bottom row) Payton Brautigam, Kiani Aranda, Grace Coleman, Allison Alvarado, and Ava Alvarado.
