Housel at Coperion

Students exploring careers in manufacturing recently toured Coperion in Whitewater, Radius Packaging in Delavan, and Gateway Technical College in Elkhorn. They saw firsthand the difference between high specialization, low-volume production and low specialization, high-volume production, and learned how automation drives the industry. Students also explored education and training opportunities through GTC’s welding and machining programs.

A special highlight: at Coperion, our Youth Apprentice Tyler Housel led part of the tour, sharing his own experience, job responsibilities, and tips on programs like Youth Apprenticeship, highlighting how it has impacted their career and learning. Students left inspired by real-world applications of math, trades, and technical skills and the exciting career paths ahead!

Shoutout to WCEDA for helping set up the tours and sponsoring lunch!
