Whitewater Unified School District Shares Strategic Planning Update
WHITEWATER, WI — Whitewater Unified School District is providing an update on its strategic planning process to guide district priorities over the next three to five years.
Centered on the theme ‘All Means All,’ the process is focused on fostering deep community engagement, rebuilding trust, and ensuring every student is seen, heard, and supported.
Since the process began in fall 2025, the district has engaged a broad cross-section of its community through two community engagement sessions, 12 focus groups, and feedback from 336 survey respondents. A 40-member strategic planning workgroup has also played a key role in guiding efforts.
Key themes emerging from community feedback include a strong emphasis on inclusivity, transparent communication, and the importance of establishing clear, actionable goals aligned with district priorities.
The planning process, facilitated by the Donovan Group, includes five stages: planning and preparation, district assessment, engagement and strategic planning, internal action planning, and implementation. The district is currently in the engagement and strategic planning phase.
“We are grateful for the strong engagement from our community throughout the strategic planning process,” said Superintendent Samuel Karns. “This work is helping us develop a clear, actionable plan that reflects our shared commitment to every student’s success.”
The strategic planning workgroup will hold its final meetings on April 29th and May 21st to complete its recommendations. The finalized strategic plan is expected to be presented to the school board in June 2026, with implementation beginning in July 2026.
