Graduation fist-bump

Congratulations! The moment you have been working toward over the past four years is arriving quickly. The Whitewater High School Class of 2022 Commencement will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at 2 p.m. in the Whitewater High School Stadium (pending weather). We expect the commencement ceremony to last approximately one hour and a half. Everyone is invited to attend, and tickets are not required as there will be enough seating for all. There is a ramp to enter the stands and first-level seating will be available for guests unable to navigate the bleachers. Please review the following information and feel free to contact us with any questions.

Caps & gowns should be hung until graduation day. You can steam out wrinkles carefully, but it is not recommended that you use an iron as the heat may ruin the material.

A mandatory graduation practice will be held in the WHS Auditorium on Friday, June 3. All graduates participating in the commencement ceremony must attend this practice. Students should arrive at school no later than 10:30 a.m. We will explain what to expect and do a complete walk-through of the ceremony. Also at this time, we will announce whether the ceremony will need to be moved indoors due to weather conditions expected on Sunday. Following the practice, students will be treated to a picnic lunch at the stadium with their classmates.

On Sunday, June 5 all graduates should arrive by 12:30 p.m. in the WHS Stadium Bleachers (weather permitting) for a class portrait. Parents and graduates can order the class portrait as well as individual pictures through Lifetouch, which will be available one week after graduation. Information will be provided to graduates at the June 3 practice.

Seniors are strongly encouraged to NOT bring unnecessary items on graduation day. You will be in multiple locations throughout the day and may lose track of where your items are in the excitement and emotion of the day.

Whitewater High School has a tradition of hosting a dignified commencement ceremony. Proper attire for graduates for the event includes dresses, skirts, dress pants, button-down collared shirts, and dress shoes. Graduation caps are to remain undecorated for the ceremony. Students should only wear cords awarded by WHS for academic achievement and recognition. All students will be provided satin stoles to be worn during the ceremony and will exchange them following the ceremony for their diplomas.
