Over the summer the Whitewater High School Tech Ed program remodeled the welding area in the high school metal shop. New welding booths, curtains, and tables were installed alongside the purchase of multi-process welders. These new multi-process welders will allow students to learn industry relevant welding processes including SMAW(Stick), GMAW(Mig) and GTAW(Tig) that are used daily by fabricators who work in local manufacturing facilities. New to Tech Ed starting this school year, juniors and seniors have the opportunity to get paid, on the job training during the school day at local manufacturing partners through Youth Apprenticeship (YA). Two students this school year are already exploring manufacturing careers at Provisur Technologies Inc. through Youth Apprenticeship.
Students who would like to learn more about manufacturing Youth Apprenticeship opportunities should contact Mr. Mason Pautsch or Mr. Justin Buntrock. Youth Apprenticeship Q&A sessions will be available to all parents interested in learning more about Youth Apprenticeship during Parent University tomorrow night, Wednesday the 14th, from 4:00 to 7:30.
