Forensics

Whitewater High School's Forensics team opened their competition season this weekend with the Take One Asynchronous Warm-Up Tournament hosted by Sun Prairie West High School on Saturday, January 21. Forensics is organized, competitive public speaking and performance of literature, and offers almost twenty different events for students to compete in at the high school and collegiate levels. Our Whippets had an impressive debut against programs representing much larger schools from around Madison, Milwaukee, and Sheboygan.

Three WHS students were recognized as "Top Novice" in their category. Competitors in their first season are considered novices. Congratulations to the following students who earned the "Top Novice" distinction:

  • Emerson Ellenwood (11th grade, Extemporaneous Speaking)
  • Sandra Javier Lopez (12th grade, Oratory)
  • Marina Linos (11th grade, Storytelling)

Way to go, Whippets!

The season has just started, and we are looking forward to building on our initial success! Any student who is interested in joining WHS Forensics is encouraged to contact Head Coach Elizabeth Miller (English) and Assistant Coach Jim McCulloch (Theatre).
