Whitewater High School is proud to partner with Gateway Technical College to offer Dual Credit opportunities which allow our students to earn college credit for free while still in high school, including 19 GTC classes taught by WHS staff!
The benefits of dual credit add up, including:
* Thousands of dollars saved: Through dual credit, students earn college credit worth hundreds or thousands of dollars for free. That means that when they start college, theyāll have less tuition costs.
* Career exploration: Dual credit gives students a more in-depth look at possible career paths, as well as hands-on learning opportunities.
* Quick career entry: By beginning to earn college credit in high school, theyāll jumpstart their education, allowing them to graduate faster and enter their career path as soon as possible.
Learn more information about Dual Credit opportunities at GTC by attending the Virtual Information session next week (See flyer for registration information).

IMPORTANT REMINDER: There will be no school for students on Thursday or Friday of this week. These days will be dedicated to teacher in-service.

After-school activities and athletics for the Whitewater Unified School District will be canceled Tuesday, January 23 due to inclement weather.
Dr. Caroline Pate-Hefty
Superintendent

In order to accommodate other school activities, the ACT Workshop originally scheduled for Saturday, February 3 has been changed to Saturday, February 17, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 in the LMC. Please find the flyer attached. This opportunity provides students practice testing under testing conditions and tips for success on each part of the test.

I apologize for the early-morning delay. I know that is hard on families, that is why I really try to make the call the night prior if possible. I will be watching conditions closely through the day. Ice/sleet wintery mix is difficult to predict as the call is more about the impact than the conditions. I am confirming we will begin school following the 2 hour delay:
9:50 ElementaryĀ
9:55 MSĀ
9:50 HS (see alt schedule for finals sent out by Mr. Mansky)

It has been confirmed that we will reopen after a two hour delay.
We will follow the schedule that was previously shared and begin at 9:50am with the 3rd period exam.

Updated high school semester exam schedule for Monday, January 22, based on a two-hour weather delay.

WUSD Staff and Families: In consultation with our bus company, we are very concerned about earlier-than-expected icing on the roads that will make it dangerous for our buses and the commute to school. (County A is currently closed by the Duck Inn due to icing.) We will be initiating a 2-hour delay and reassessing if school can start safely. AM 4K will be canceled.

The Whitewater Unified School District presents its Band'O'Rama on Saturday, February 10. The performers will include: 5th Grade Band, 6th Grade Band, 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, High School Jazz Ensemble, and Middle School Jazz Ensemble. The concert will begin at 3:00pm in the WHS Main Gym, and admission is free. We hope to see you there!

Whitewater Unified School District will be closed on Friday, January 12, 2024 due to a Winter Storm Warning that is tracking heavy snow that will impact travel during school hours. All before and after-school athletics and activities for Friday will also be canceled.
